Joyful Simplicities | August
I’m kicking off the month on a dreamy girls trip we’ve been calling Camp—a getaway we’ve looked forward to all summer long. Think: hikes through the Smoky Mountains, long dinners under candlelight, sound healing on cool wooden floors, and the kind of belly laughs that only happen when you’re completely at ease. It’s the perfect ode to this summer—and a bridge into a slower, richer rhythm of August!
August, to me, sounds like cicadas—their steady hum rising and falling in the heat. It’s a rhythm more than a rush, a tone that isn’t quiet but isn’t aggressive either. The days feel suspended in a warm, golden stillness. We’re not quite in summer, not yet in fall—just somewhere tender and slow in between.

Camp. Girls trip in the country with my girls who remind me how good life can feel offline. I’ll admit… this is the first trip I’ve ever taken without my laptop. It makes me a bit anxious knowing something “could” come up for work, but I think it’s good for me.
