This past week has been filled with lots of laughter (& tears), conversation, and quality time with those I hold closest. And lots of traveling. It started out with a lone weekend in Boulder with my GIRL Nat. We had the most lovely weekend — I could go on for hours but I’ll leave you with this: I am so blessed and grateful to have such thoughtful, inspiring, beautiful, and intelligent girlfriends. My weekend with Nat was all I could have asked for and more. Damn grateful. I headed back to the city & headed right back to O’hare and popped down to Palm Beach for a weekend with my mom and sister. Another lovely weekend. Family always brings out the best (and the worst) sides of us and teaches us the most from a personal growth perspective. I’m so grateful for the connection I have with my family — they are my best friends (and worst enemies at times LOL) and they are constantly challenging me to become a better version of myself (while having a lot of fun along the way). Again, so damn grateful — a weekend in the mountains and another by the sea!
My middle name is grace, so I’ve always loved the word grace/ful and tried to live gracefully. Now more than ever, I’ve been embracing a graceful heart and spirit.
CURRENTLY LOVING
Evolvetogether: lip blam & hand cream. These products are next level — buttery, hydrating, and oh so clean. Natalie got me onto them in Boulder, and I am absolutely obsessed. I have (and adore) the lip balm in Provence and the hand cream in Havana.
A simple eyebrow spoolie: Another Natalie recommendation — can you tell she’s my biggest non-influencer influencer? Anytime I use eyebrow gel I find my sensitive skin breaking out around my brows, so I’ve always been wary of the whole gelling up my brows thing. The spoolie gives you the lift without the product — think of it as an eyelash curler for your brows. It’s a new part of my refresh routine & I love how youthful, fresh, and clean it makes me look!
Demylee fina striped sweater: I love a striped sweater… but it’s hard to do it right. The blue can be too bright, the stripes too big, the knit too thin, the fit not right. This one, however, knocks it out of the park. C+H is all in all a lovely store with an even lovelier selection, and this sweater will be a repeat offender in my fall wardrobe. The fit, knit, and coloring is absolutely perfect.
RECIPE
Sourdough bison burgers, grilled. Simple!
Fresh sourdough with butter (I love baking with kamut flour lately) gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, and your bison burgers. Get force of nature bison, make your patties, add S+P, and grill them — the ultimate summer meal.
WELLNESS HACK
Breath some fresh air and listen to the sounds of nature. I know it sounds obvious, but, living in a city, it’s baffling to me how much calmer and more centered I get when I get into nature. Last weekend in the mountains and now this weekend by the sea have left me feeling rejuvenated & relaxed. Nature is underrated — clearly you can tell I won’t be a city girl for life!
READING
I’ve been reading this book every morning in my devotional, and I am loving the simplicity yet eloquence of the words. If you’re trying to implement a morning routine, I highly recommend doing this + some breathwork!
